    They did not eat much meat because they had not got the money to buy it. Sometimes they killed an old cow and it held them a long time. Some people had salted fish.
    It is over sixty years since tea first came and it was very dear at first. It was fourteen shillings a pound. They had no cups then but piggins, bows and saucepans.
