- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)of the scholars sat on stones.
It was attended by a man named William Barry of Inagh. He is about eighty four or eighty five years. There was no ink there and they wrote on slates. When the slate was covered with writing they rubbed it out with a piece of cloth. The slates were left at the school when the scholars went home. They had other slates on which they did exercises at home. The teacher was paid by the scholars bringing a penny each, every day. In that way the more scholars that attended the school the better the teacher was paid.- Bailitheoir
