- As I marched down through Cavan town,
It been on the twelfth day of July,
Those Orangemen were in their prime,
Their shouts and cheers would rend the sky,
There was one Stickfoot Walker there by name,
I'm told he was a master man
A large buck goat he always kept.
For Orangemen to ride upon.
This buck been sturdy, stout and bold
In him they all took great delight
And let them send him where they will
He'll run their errands day and night.
II
The bag been closed, and off he goes
Until he came to Farnham's gate
He met a bulldog on the road
He asked him who dressed him as neat (nate)
Whats that to you, the buck replied,
I want none of your tattling prate,
This day we'll have an Orange walk
Lord Farnham I must not keep in wait
That you would stop me on my way
He'd march you down through Cavan town
And hang you on the gallows tree(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
