- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)where houses were long ago and even on our farm my father can point out where two or three old houses were before the Famine. Our townland is in the parish of Donaghmoyne and in the Barony of Farney. All the houses in our townland are slated but long ago this was not so. There is a lake in this townland namely Loc Creevey which means the lake of branches as long ago there was a lot of trees and bushes growing round it. There are not many stories told about this lake but there are some. A man named Peter Goodman was drowned in it some years ago. The way he was drowned was very sad indeed. It was in the winter and a hard frost fell on the country. The lake was covered with a hard board of ice and all the young people including Goodman were sliding on it and it happened that this man went out too far(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
