    our landlord and an officer in the old police force of Ireland. He married Miss Nixon who owned Dernakesh and Ralaghan and lost the property when she died. He himself died about the year 1898 at his residence in Bray.
    He was considered a very hard man on his tenants as he carried out a very cruel eviction on Mrs. White, Ralaghan about the year 1894 and his bailif, James McEntire, Corrogarry drove of her cattle and destroyed he furniture.
    Anyone who took part in the eviction would be cursed by the evicted party. A fire of stones would be lighted and some "prayers" said backway. If the fire burned the curse was
