- I live in the townland of Cappa, and in the parish of Sixmilebridge and the Barony of Bunratty.
How it got its name was - the land was all tilled long ago and Cappa means a tillage plot. Its land is good. The most common name is Quinn. The most of the houses are thatched. The oldest woman in the townland is Mrs. Quinn. She knows no Irish, but she is able to tell old stories. Long ago houses were more numerous than they are now. They are now in ruins.
Some people left the townland and went to America long ago and were never seen again. The townland was never mentioned in song or story. There is a wood about a half a mile away named Deer Park wood.- Bailitheoir
