- (9) LisduffIn the townland of Lisduff there's a hill I called the Furry Hill. It got its name from the furge that grow on it. It is on the road between Limerich and Ennis and can be seen by people who pass by.It is a short distance from the village of Newmarket. It is said that there was a fight there once between two blans. There is a big flag - stone at the back of this hill. It is said that there is gold hidden under it. There came people from the village about forty years ago to look for it.(continues on next page)
