Ar an leathanach seo

    the byre. In it the cows are kept during the winter. It is divided into two parts. One part for the cows and one part for the calfs. Between them runs a channel.
    When cows are going in damage or into a neighbour's field they are tied. They are tied from head to foot which is called fettered, or from the front foot to the back foot which is called "Sidelang", or the two front feet which is called "Spangled". The tyings are made of rope or chain.
    When a person starts milking he ususally wets the teats and when finished he makes a sign of the cross on the cows side with milk saying "God Bless the Cow"
