- My father told me how they sued to make a hatcogy long ago they used to go to the bog on a Sunday for rushes then would soart out the rushes and get them all the one size then they would mgke a plait of rushes then they would stick more rushes in the plat then they would start another plat near the top of the rushes they would keep plaiting till they would close it in on the top.
