- My father told me a story about who used to make crill creels. He lived in Killedear and then his name was Tom Walsh. And he lived alone in a small hut. Any one that wanted a pair of creels would give him the rods. When he would start the creels he would leave them one night in water to season. Then in the morning he would get his knife and there was a large stone out side the door where he would put an edge on the knife.
