- There is an old graveyard in Ballyburke. No people are buried in that graveyard but long ago lots of people were buried in it. Long ago there was a man living below Castlebar and he bought land in Ballyburke and the time of the famine he died of hunger and the people did not know where to bury him and they buried him in Ballyburke. When he was a month dead the people saw ghosts there and every night they saw a light at about nine o'clock and it would rise up in(continues on next page)
