- Long ago, when roads were first made, it was by the side of a river people made them. The reason why they made them along the banks of rivers was because they had bad ways of working and they could not make them against a hill.
The roads around this place have different names. One road is called the Line, because it is very straight. Another road is called Killuran road. Another road is called Ballymacdonnell road because it is made through Ballmacdonnell. There were no bridges at that time. It was stepping stones that were across the river then.- Bailitheoir
