- There are many signs of good and bad weather in this place. Swallows flying high is a good sign and flying low is a sign of rain. The roaring of the river is a sign of fine weather. The curlews roaring is a bad sign. To see crows on a wall is a bad sign. Soot falling from the chimney is a sign of rain. A dog eating grass is a sign of rain. When smoke does not go up the chimney its a sign of rain. To see swans and wild-geese flying is a sign of rain.(continues on next page)
