- Long ago people had very little cures. The cures which they had were very simple. When they had any sores or cuts they would get a dog to lick the sore. When they wanted to cure boils they would put hot gruel to it. They put flour to burns. They also put boiled potato to boils or any kind of boils. If a horse cut its leg they put oil into the cut.
