    days. My mother and I make the churning. If one comes in to the house when a churning is making they have to strike a few blows in it. Because if they go out without leaving a hand on them, the churn it is said that they would bring the butter. It takes about a half an hour for make churning in summer time and a little more in winter. The butter is taken out of a dash churn with the dash. The churn is rocked back and over and off the butter sticks together. Then they put the dash under the butter and lift it up into a dish. When it is taken out it is washed to take the milk out of it.
