The old people say if a priest came to your house never vex him for if he is angry he can bring you ill luck by rubbing his foot on the threshold.The friars of Ballyhaunis kept horses which strayed now and then down to Aughadeffin and Cloonfalis. In harvest time one horse got into a man field of oats in Cloonfalis. This man was in a rage when the Friar arrived. He scolded and scolded and scolded. The Friar apologesed but it was no use the scolding continued. At last the Friar lost patience and said you will have less to say to-morrow. At midnight the man took suddenly ill. He lost the talk and became unconcious. A priest was sent for and the man was dying. The wife heart broken fled to the Friary and besought the friar to come and restore the man his health(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
