    next day.
On New Year's Day the people get up early. Some of the members of family go to first mass and the others go to last mass. While they are away those who are at home prepare the dinner. When the others return from last mass the dinner is ready.
On the twelfth day the people have another feast. On the night some people light twelve rush candles. They get rushes and they dry them at the fire. When they are dried they peel part of the skin off each and then they dip them in oil. When night falls they light the candles. Each one chooses a rush and who ever has the rush that quenches first will be the first to die.
After this night all the decorations are taken down again. Then the houses are all as plain.
