    Till the present times there is a lot of old habits which are kept up such as the bonfire night on the twenty-third of June.

    turf ready for the fire. The children all do have three torches and when they be a while at the fire they light the torch and then run to the field of potatoes. Then every one gets into a shough and runs up the ridge. It is said that if a small spark falls on every ridge it is lucky. On that night if one's neighbour is sick it is very lucky for one to go and do the same with his crops. There is another night which is called May Eve - On this night some girl has to dress in a man's white suit and another girl has to dress in a white dress and go after the May Lady up and down the road and have May flowers also.
    There is another night which falls on Old Hallow Eve and it is said that at three o'clock the water changes into wine. Once upon a time a man called Pat Ward sat up to see the water changing and at morning the man was away in the head.
    The first day of November it is called Oidhchenamarbh. This is the night that all the people that are dead can be seen
