  1. Long ago the houses were built of stone and some where built of sods. They used to use clay for mortar. The roofs used to be tied on the straw, then ropes used to be tied on the straw. The doors used to be made of rods and plastered with clay. There used to be no glass in the windows. The floors used to be made of clay also. Some clay straw used to be put in the corner of the house and bed clothes put over it and the children used to lie on it. The hearth used to be in
