  1. After the Battle of the Boyne The Walkers came to the Port. They had a rough time there owing to the religious strife and they had to leave and live in a house near the shore in Kilmacreddan.
    They then went to Ballywoges near Dunkineely. On account of their part on Williams side they got free land. They had no rent or tax to pay. Master White the teacher married one of them and he still lives on the farm.
    Master White himself came from Pettigo.
