  1. There was once a little girl who lived with her grandmother. When she was only 11 years she got ill and grew weak. As death was approaching the grandmother asked her to come back and tell her what the next world was like.
    One night, about a month after the girl's death, she came back and sat on one side of the fire. The grandmother was glad to see her and got up, gave her oat cake and sweet milk. This was such a treat that she continued night after night.
    At last the grandmother thought she was coming too often, and she told the priest who told her to make a ring of holy water in the middle of the floor and command her to go into the ring.
