Water cress is a plant which is to be got in marshy land in the Spring of the year. It is a preventitive of scurvy. Garlic prevents black leg in cattle. It is given to them mixed with lard and gun powder. Garlic and dandelion boiled in milk will prevent consumption. Marshmallow has a root somewhat like a carrot(continues on next page)
