  1. There is a dun or a lios about about a half mile outside Lismore, lo. Waterford. It is situated to the west of Ireland. There is an old story told of the place. I heard it from my father
    In olden times when the Danes were in Ireland they robbed Lismore monastary several times. One starry night a monk was burying some precious vessels. A fairy shoe-maker called a lepracan appeared to him and told the monk that he would take care of the vessels for him, if the monk gave him a bit of leather to make a pair of boots. The monk agreed but he had no leather in the monastarry. He gave him his cincture that is a leather belt he wore.
