  1. Saint Carthagh is the Patron Saint of Lismore. Saint Carthagh's Cathedral was built in Lismore not very long ago in honour of the Saint. Lismore is called Lismore Mocuda, and many people in the district are called Carthagh or Catchy or Cudy. It is said that when he came to Lismore first he and his numerous flock of monks slept in a cave near the Blackwater. A new life of Saint Carthagh was published a few months ago.
