  1. Our farm contains about one and forty acres of this is in potatoes this Spring but the amount varies every year.
Potatoes are usually grown in a field which grew grain the former year but they are never grown on the land.
On a Spring morning you will hear my brother and the ploughman whistling as they go to plough the land.
The plough is yoked to a pair of swingle-trees and then chains are attached to the back rope of the horses.
Two horses are usually yoked abreast. The harness consists of blinkers, collar, hems and back rope.
