  1. Potatoes are grown on Mr. Lynche's farm. Seven acres of land is sown under potatoes each year. The amount never varies. The plough man prepares the ground. The first thing done, is:- the ground is manured, then placed, harrowed and last the drills are made and the seed sown. A plough is used. Wooden ploughs were never used on the farm. The local people help one another in the harvest. They help to cut corn, wheat and dig potatoes.
