    "Dockens" are the most harmful weeds and hardest to get rid of. If they are not attended to and dug out they will spread very rapidly because when one "docken" reaches maturity it produces thousands of seed. "Dockens" will grow in any crop or field. A large number of soft and harmless weeds grow among the potato crop but if these are hoed out in dry weather and exposed to the sun they will die. The name of some of these weeds are chicken weed and colts-foot. "Preasach" and "swogs" grow through the hay and corn and if they are not weeded out they get through the seed and do a lot of damage. Mossy soil is greatly given to a weed called "garr" and if it is not taken out it will smother any crop.
