  1. The following are the games I play. I play cards, blind-stam, draughts, hide-and-seek, marbles, whipping a top. I make rabbit snares and bird-Traps in Winter. In Autumn I go nutcracking and blackberry gathering and hunting. I also play "the ball in the park and cannot get out," "hares and hounds", "Polly one o'clock and "goose."
The game goose is played in the following manner. We get a big stone and we leave it sitting on the ground. Then we get a small round stone and leave it sitting on the big stone and we try to knock it off with stones. A boy stands about two yards from the big stone which is called the "goose". When the other boys throw their stones they have to run and get them, and if the boy who is at the "goose" catches anyone of them while he has the stone in his hands he has to stay at the goose.
