    The men beg in the local villages for turf, hay and potatoes. Sometimes they mend pots, kettles, pans and saucepans. Sometimes they carry a basket and sell little articles as saucepans, collar-studs, tie-pins, safety-pins, Blessed pictures, rosary beads, hair-clips and camphor.
    Sometimes they have delph to sell. the women walk from house to house but the men go in the carts. They come from all parts of Ireland.
