Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)near the fire. The fireplace was usually placed in the middle of the house and a room at the back of it.
The chimney was made of clay which was called "dóbh buidhe" and wattles. In some places the fire was made in a corner of the house and a hole in the roof to let out the smoke. There were no windows until 1830. Before the windows came in common holes that were in use and a bag of hay or straw put in them in the night time.
All the floors were made from dóbh buidhe. Half doors were common formerly but very few(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
