    three as in the first case. He continued on and it was the same all along the road to Prospect. The last house was Jim Fordes and it was in utter darkness. He wondered was there an end to the strange experience of the night where all of a sudden he heard a rumbling noise behind him as of something being drawn along the road.
    He looked back and could see distinctly a black sow coming along. He had to turn down to the left then he saw her mount the fence across the public road and enter Finnegans garden. She followed him to the door of his own house. He banged the door just on her face. He was ill for three weeks afterwards.
