  1. About a couple of hundred yards to the north of Woodford there is a fairly large field in which gold is supposed to be hidden.
    An old man named Conroy dreamt that the gold was hidden under a tree but that three men would have to seek for it. He had this strange dream three times in succession and each time he dreamt that something would happen to one of the men. At last he got three men to seek for it but when they came to the tree fear came over them and they abandoned the work. The tree is still to be seen but the field is said to be haunted.
