  1. There lived in Deer Island a woman and her husband and one son. One day the man and the son went to Moyrus in a boat. The woman was old and feeble and could not do very much.
That night they were coming home and they saw a light in the house, when they came near they thought they saw an old woman walking up and down the floor.
She was carrying lighted candles in candlesticks and white cloths. She was dressed in clothes as white and snow. When they went into the house they found the woman dead and candles burning around her.
