    Come on my dear people it is my intention a few verses to make,
    It's concerning a donkey that lately was raffled
    And bred in the valleys of Ballyhiague

    The night he was raffled the people were baffled
    They did not know how to find out the place
    The river was high and the stick was not dry, and of course the new bridge it was'nt half made.
    There was too much expenses in making the fences or sinking the river round Ballyhaigue

    To creep on the stick it was no easy trick for any young girl that wore a
