- The people ate three meals a day long ago. In the morning they used to go out and fodder the cows, and then go to their work, and about nine o'clock they would come in and eat their stirabout. They would have their dinner at two o'clock and they usually took milk and potatoes for it. They seldom took meat. They would have their supper at eight o'clock they used to eat their supper out of noggins. The supper consists of stirabout and butter-milk. At dinner time the children sat around the baskets, the father sat at the head of the table. They used to have tables hung up against the wall, they used to take it down when they wanted it and they could put it up again. There is still one in Joe Maguire's.
