1. The Orange Walk - The Battle of Ardrum Hill (ar lean)

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)

   It being the 12th July 1826,
   They swore they'd murder Romans,
   And they'd break the Crucifix.
   They marched in grand formation,
   And they played their pipes and drums,
   But little was their notion
   That we'd take their swords and guns.

   Going through the town, ''Croppy Lie Down''
   Was the first tune that they played.
   It was their cry, as they passed by,
   ''Where is the Ribbon Blade?''
   Our Irish blood began to flow like any purling rill.
   And we, a few, did them pursue,
   And we met on Ardrum Hill.

   † The Orangemen were on the return march to B'more, when the catholics met them.

   Says Will., the chief, ''here is the priest,
   This house we will consume.''
   Around the walls they fired balls,
   The roof and rigging tore:
   But he defied that low-lived tribe
   That walked through Ballinamore.
