    Long ago the old people used to wear shoes only, when going to Mass or to market. They used often throw them off and sling them across their shoulders. Children always go barefoot in Summer. It is very good for their feet, it hardens them and keeps them free from corns. Everybody washes their feet once a week, and the water is always thrown out. The old people had a "piseog" that the good people did not want feet water in the house.
