On either side may be espied]
    Round charming sweet Rattoo.

Down by that stream and mossy bank,
    That gently slopes away,
Where workmen in the Harvest time
Are seen to save the hay,
Where every shrub and beauteous rose
    Shines verdantly and new,
All around the lovely low-lying lands
    Of Charming Sweet Rattoo.

But from my own dear native home
I soon will have to go,
To leave the dear scenes of Rattoo
My fate it will be so
For I must leave my love behind
And bid her a fond adieu,
Still I'll keep those memories fresh in mind
    Of Charming Sweet Rattoo.
