May-Day is supposed to be a very lucky day. In some parts of the country people pull the May-tree which they call the "Crann Bhealtaine", and put it over the door-way of the entrance to the dwelling-house. Also it is put over stables and cow-houses. The idea of doing this is to bring luck to the people for the year.
