  1. Jim McDonagh of Harristown was a very strong man. He lifted a large stone at Knockbrack graveyard. The rock is there yet and has never been shifted by any man since his time. He dies about 18 years ago at the age of 65 years. He was a descendant of the McDonagh giants who occupied Ballymote castle when it was last occupied.

  2. There lived a great woman in Harristown, her name was Mary Keenan. she could walk to Knock in her bare feet and back again the same day. She was about 74 years when she died.
