    Long ago when Ballybeggan Castle was newly built an awful tyrant lived there. He was a very bad Protestant but had a Catholic maid.
    One day one of the girls said,
    "I will go to Mass to-morrow".
    "Do not", he said.
    "I will", she said.
    Next day came and she went to Mass in "Poll an Aifrinn". During the Mass he came walking around the hole and Mass going on under him, so after a while he went home. When she came home he asked her was she at Mass.
    "I was", she said.
    "You were not", he said.
    She cried, "I was and I can prove it for you".
    "How", he said.
    "You took out your glasses and cleaned them with your glass cloth", said she.
    He replied, "I did".
    So from that day onwards he believed in the "True Faith" and became a Christian.
