died of a wound received in a quarrel was situated at the end of the Fair field of Knocknagree on the north side of the road a little way east of the Church gate. His funeral started from Knocknagree on a holiday morning wither 29th June or Corpus Christi. There was no bridge over the "Blackwater" then so the remains were temporarily buried at Nohavil as the river was flooded. Days later it proceeded to Muckross Abbey where he sleeps beside O'Donoghue's tomb. The letters S.M.R. are engraved on the vault. Some go as far to say the remains were never removed from Nohavil.
