    Long ago when there were no ploughs there, all the farmwork was done with spades. They used have races to know who would be the best men for setting potatoes. Some of the wealthy farmers use have a hired bully as captain so that he would knock work out of the men. Sometimes there were men better than the bully. There were six men and a bully working for a farmer. One day they were covering potatoes with spades. The ridges in which they set them were about one hundred and forty spades in length, each spade about five feet three inches long. They used to complete a ridge every day. It was difficult to cut the left hand brow with a spade when covering. The bully got up one night and cut the left brow of every eight furrow so that he could work quicker and the other six should follow him. The men saw the trick and one of them stopped at home the next day. That threw the bully out of his own furrow. The men passed him out working
