The names of some of the birds around here are, the thrush, robin, blackbird, swallow, wren, crow, starling, lark, plover, linnet, seagull, grouse, partridge, curlew, sparrow, hawk, chaffinch, bullfinch, magpie, bluetit, crossbill, goldfinch, yellow - hammer, snipe, swan, wild geese, wild duck, water-hen, tom-tit, crane, cuckoo, corncrake, martin, rífóg, king-fisher, sally-picker, stone chat, pheasant, swift, wagtail, owl, jackdaw, pigeon, wood-quest, and tom-tit.
    Crows build their nests on very high trees with twigs, and hay, and swallows build in barns and eaves of houses. If a boy or girl robs a swallow's nest the cow will milk blood and they will get a "bumbúl" on their foot. My brother used to get them on his feet. When you hear
