  1. Everyone should practise cleanliness, because it keeps away disease, sometimes we contract diseases from other people and even from animals.
    I shall try to give a few of the diseases which are cured in the locality.
    Felons are cured by herbs by Mr Kelly Barnhill
    Ringworms are also cured by herbs my Mrs Cross Castledermot.
    In the case of warts you get a snail rub them with it, put it on a thorn bush and when the snail withers the wart will be gone.
    Another cure for warts is, if you could get a stone with water lying in it.
    The Kings Evil is cured by Mr Byrne Commonstown.
    Septic poisoning caused by thorns is cured by Mrs Gorman, Johnstown.
    Erysipelas is also cured in the locality.
    Shingles St Anthonys Fire is cured by the blood of a
