In this district there is a certain time of the year when people don't get married It is believed that it is an unlucky time of the year This period of time is the seven weeks of lent + the month of May. Long ago the people used to go on horseback to be married. When the marriage was oven the man and woman would go home on one horse + there would be an old shoe tied to the horse's tail. The night before the marriage there would be an old shoe tied to the door of the house by the neighbours
