  1. There are many customs in this district which are carried out at marriages. Long ago the couple that were going to get married would go on horseback to the church where they were to be married and the people that were to attend the marriage would also go on horseback. The horse that the married couple used to be done up in ribbons and an old shoe tied to his tail. There used to be an old shoe tide to the door also
