    The new road in Derrinard was made in the time of the famine. Many people died in that time as the result of hunger.
    There is an old road leading from our school down to Marohin four miles but it doesn't be used now because it is all over-grown with briars.
    There is another old Bohereen going from our house in Ballybawn to the public road about one mile and a half away; this old road is scarcely used but the cows make it their path.
