  2. Once upon a time there was an old man living in Billywood and he was very rich. Before he died he buried all his money under the hearth-stone. When he was dead and his house down two men went one night to dig for the gold. They hit a flag and they thought it the flag over the gold. But the boys from around got chains and old cans and came running down the road dragging them after themselves. The men though it was a ghost so they ran off and threw the spades after them.
