There were two men coming home from a fair at twelve o'clock one night....

There were two men coming home from a fair at twelve o'clock one night and they saw a candle lighting inside the wall. One of the men threw a stone at it and immediately the candle was far away in the field. They followed it until day light and at last they knew that it was "Jack o' the lantern" that made them stray.
